GENERAL GUIDELINES

If you'd like to submit a piece for our Guest Writer Wednesday series or one of the Theme Weeks listed below, please e-mail us a brief proposal at btchflcks[@]gmail[dot]com with the subject line "submission." We accept both original pieces and cross posts, and we respond to queries within a few days.

We like most of our pieces to be between 1,000-2,000 words, preferably with some links and images. Please send your piece in the text of an e-mail, including links to all images, and include a 2-3 sentence bio for placement at the end of your piece.

WEEKLY GUEST WRITERS

Every Wednesday, we publish reviews and feminist commentary by guest writers. Please browse some of our most popular pieces by our past guest writers to get an idea of what we're looking for. They include pieces such as "Rom-Coms Don't Suck" by Amanda Krauss, "Boardwalk Empire" by Amanda ReCupido, and "Movie Preview: Horrible Bosses" by Melissa McEwan. Shoot us an e-mail if you'd like to contribute an original piece or a cross post from your own blog!

2013 THEME WEEKS

At the end of every month, we publish reviews and feminist commentary surrounding a specific theme. Our upcoming themes for the rest of the year are listed below. We publish our official Call for Writers at the beginning of each month, but feel free to get a head start if a particular theme appeals to you. Our past theme weeks include Best Picture Oscar Nominees for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012; Indie Spirit Nominees for 2012; Emmy Week 2011; Horror Week 2011; Animated Children's Films; and Mad Men Week; check out the Theme Weeks page to see the entire list.
